As part of our next phase of growth, we are seeking to expand our Advisory Board through recruiting two passionate, strategic and committed Advisory Board Members to complement our current Advisory Board and support our Co-Executive Directors.
About Digital Action:
Digital Action is a collaborative organization working to advance technology justice through collective action, research, and narrative change. We operate as a connector and convener within the broader tech justice ecosystem.
Role Overview:
An effective Advisory Board is critical to Digital Action’s success, providing strategic guidance, fundraising leadership, accountability,regional knowledge and connections with the communities we aim to work with. Digital Action’s Advisory Board Members share a strong commitment to the organization’s mission and vision. They serve in a voluntary capacity and act as advisors, offering their professional expertise to support and strengthen the organization.
Responsibilities of the Advisory Board:
Each Board member is expected to:
- Attend and actively participate in all quarterly board meetings
- Provide oversight on regional and global events and their impact on the work of the organization
- Provide strategic direction and support to Digital Action’s strategy and action plan.
- Review yearly budgets and audits
- Act as an “ambassador” for Digital Action, promoting its mission and work
- Support fundraising efforts through donor engagement
- Represent Digital Action in public events.
Key competencies of the Board:
Digital Action is seeking to strengthen its Board with expertise and diversity across the following areas:
- Tech Justice and policy expertise (AI governance, digital public infrastructure, etc.)
- Regional representation and understanding
- Legal expertise
- Strategic leadership, management and planning
- Fundraising experience or connections with funders.
